Top 5 Plays From The World Cup Of Hockey
Now that the World Cup of Hockey has concluded, here are our five favorite plays from the tournament.
5. Johnny Gaudreau scores on Henrik Lundqvist
Gaudreau gets a breakaway pass from Shayne Gostisbehere and has plenty of time against Henrik Lundqvist. He comes in fast, makes five quick stickhandles, starts to go to his backhand, and quickly pulls it back forehand to slide one in for the 3-1 lead.
4. Petr Mrazek robs Roman Josi
Mrazek makes a huge glove save after losing his stick. He looks out of position but comes up big with a windmill save after Josi slightly hesitates on his shot.
3. Brad Marchand's Shorthanded Game-Winner
Marchand helps Team Canada complete the comeback with 35 seconds left in Game 2 of the Finals. Jonathan Toews sets him up with a perfect no-look pass to the high slot and he snipes one top-shelf past Jaroslav Halak.
2. Evgeny Kuznetsov Goes Coast-To-Coast
Kuznetsov stickhandles his way through the entire Team North America defense and scores a beautiful goal on Matt Murray. Bonus points for the FIFA-style celebration.
1. Auston Matthews Dangles And Scores
Matthews, while on his knees, dangles the puck around Victor Hedman, makes a great pass to Morgan Reilly, and buries the rebound.
