Bauer’s 2016 Vapor protective line brings players their trademark tapered fit. This means that Vapor elbow pads have a wider fit over the biceps and a standard fit down through the forearm. Vapor protective gear provides elite mobility without sacrificing protection or comfort. The X800 elbow pads are Bauer’s mid-range model in the Vapor line and will provide players with better protection and more features than the entry-level X700 model.
The most notable feature that was not found in last generation’s mid-range Vapor elbow pads (X80 model) is the PE insert in the forearm guard. Medium density (MD) foams are placed throughout the elbow pads – specifically in the bicep guards, forearm guards, and elbow caps – to increase protection.
Bauer Vapor X800 elbow pads have the same Free Flex elbow cap construction as the models above it, just with a basic bicep guard. While these features aren’t as high-tech as those on the X900 and 1X models, they still allow for good, natural movement. These elbow pads also feature a three-strap system with a wide, mesh inner-elbow anchor strap to keep the pads in place all game long.
The X800s have a soft, hydrophobic mesh liner that wicks away sweat, keeping the pads dryer and lighter during play.
Bauer Vapor X800 elbow pads have the most comparable fit style to Easton’s mid-range Synergy 650 model.

Sizing Guidelines: Measure the length between the shoulder pad and the cuff of the glove. Match the player’s measured size to the size of the elbow pads by inches. Determine the level of play and the level of protection necessary. When fastened securely, there should be no gap between the pad and either the biceps extension of the shoulder pad or the cuff of the glove. The elbow pad should not slip or move while fastened. Players who wear a short cuff style glove should choose the longer model of elbow pad.
