Bauer Supreme Ignite Pro shin guards are a rare and exclusive product made for Sports Excellence retailers like Discount Hockey. They are an upgraded version of the mid-range Supreme S170 shin guards at a lower price than the second-tier S190 model.
Bauer’s 2017 Supreme protective line brings players their trademark anatomical fit. This means that Supreme gear has the lowest profile fit between Vapor, Supreme, and Nexus pads. It provides a natural, close-to-the-body fit that helps players achieve maximum power with every movement.
The Supreme Ignite Pros are upgraded to have Vent Armor foam in the thigh protector, which is a feature not found on any shin guard in this generation’s Supreme lineup. This improved thigh protector increases comfort and protection in a key impact area.
Bauer Supreme Ignite Pro shin guards utilize a more traditional 2-piece Velcro attachment system. The calf has a wide, rigid Velcro strap and the lower knee has a 1” mesh Velcro strap that wraps around and attaches in the front. Even though players are getting a more basic strapping system, they will still get the same thermoformed ergonomic shin cap found all the way up in the 1S model. Bauer also utilizes medium-density (MD) foams and polyethylene (PE) inserts throughout the calf guard for the highest level of protection at this price point.
The Ignite Pros have a soft, hydrophobic mesh liner that wicks away sweat, keeping the pads dryer and lighter during play.

Sizing Guidelines: Shin guards are measured best while the player is sitting. Using shin guards that are either too long or too short will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shin guards should be secured with shin guard straps or tape. To fit properly, first determine the level of play. Next, measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot. Last, match the player’s shin size to the inches of shin guard.
