Maybe the most important piece of equipment on the ice. Bauer's primary goal is for its helmets to protect the players. Bauer employs decades of experience with manufacturing hockey equipment to produce helmets that offer superior protection, while providing comfort, allowing unhindered play and better performance.
Bauer's revolutionary Re-Akt helmet brings a new level superior comfort, fit, and protection to the sport of hockey. The company focused on the players' needs with regard to protection against a variety of impacts. This lightweight helmet is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functionally protective.
Bauer uses Poron Xro Foam padding, a pliable material that conforms to the player's head while dissipating the force from hard impacts. A Suspend-Tech system mounted in the ceiling of the helmet allows the Vertex foam attached to the shell to float, as the helmet is suspended with stretchable, soft Poron XRD foam that wraps comfortably around the top of the head. At the temple, memory foam inserts contour to the player. Vertex foam lines the inner edges of the Re-Akt, with quad padding within the ceiling, completing the interior protection inside of the helmet.
The Occipital Lock 3.0 offers an adjustable 2-piece shell with the flexibility to fit a variety of players. The tool-free adjustment feature located on top of the helmet, offers enhanced side-impact protection. Ventilation ports are positioned at the front, sides, and rear of the helmet to keep the head cool and dry. Dual density ear covers protect from impact and abrasion, while not hindering the player. Angled ear loops curve naturally around the jaw, keeping the chin strap in a more comfortable and secure.
The Re-Akt ace mask is constructed of patented lightweight titanium oval wire, half the weight of conventional masks. The wire is spaced to offer maximum visibility and protection. A free-floating chin cup includes the Poron XRD foam for added comfort. Microban antimicrobial protection prevents mold and mildew, and inhibits odor and stain causing bacteria.
