The Bauer NSX recreational ice skates are part of Bauer’s newest skate line for 2018. They have a hybrid tapered-anatomical fit and are designed for recreational hockey players looking for their first pair of skates.

The NSXs have an injected composite weave quarter package, which is similar to the quarter package found on the Vapor X300 model. It is made of rigid plastic and has a carbon fiber look. Players using the NSX skates will get some foot and ankle support.

The Bauer NSX ice skates come standard with basic TUUK LightSpeed Pro II holders and stainless steel runners. The runners are permanently attached to the holders, so players won’t be able to swap their steel mid-game in the event of a lost edge or damaged runner.

Next, the NSX skates use a basic 2-piece 30oz. felt tongue with a metatarsal guard. It is soft, flexible, and has a soft padded region. The metatarsal guard is wide and gives players protection only where needed.

Moving on to the inside of the skates, The NSX skates use a basic microfiber liner. This helps keeps players’ feet comfortable all game long.

The NSX ice skates come with an EVA footbed to help keep the foot dry and comfortable inside the skate.

The tendon guard on the NSX is stiff and fixed in place. It has very little give and is ideal for players who want support but don’t need anything fancy. It also has a navy blue and orange design to make it really stand out.
