Bauer’s 2016 Nexus protective line brings players a traditional, or classic, fit. This means that the shin guards have a high-volume fit both over the knee and through the lower portion of the shin. Nexus protective gear provides ultimate coverage with controlled movement.

The N9000 shin guards are Bauer’s second-tier model in the Nexus line and will provide players with a great level of protection at a fraction of the price of the top-of-the-line 1N model. N9000 shin guards are best suited for players who block shots and finish checks.

Bauer Nexus N9000 shin guards are comfortable, flexible, and mobile because of the 2-strap attachment system with anchor strap. This is a 1” Velcro strap over the lower knee and a wide, mesh strap behind the calf. Bauer also utilizes mid-density (MD) foams throughout the calf guard, knee wing, thigh protector, and main liner for the highest level of protection possible.

The N9000 is the only Nexus shin guard that offers the THERMO MAX Liner. This liner causes the pads to stay dryer and lighter during play because they won’t be absorbing sweat.

Bauer Nexus N9000 shin guards have the most comparable fit and protection to CCM Tacks 6052 or Warrior Alpha QX Pro shin guards.

Sizing Guidelines: Shin guards are measured best while the player is sitting. Using shin guards that are either too long or too short will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shin guards should be secured with shin guard straps or tape. To fit properly, first determine the level of play. Next, measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot. Last, match the player’s shin size to the inches of shin guard.
