Bauer Nexus N9000 gloves are the second-tier model in the Nexus line and will provide players with a similar level of protection and comfort as the top-of-the-line 1N model at a fraction of the price. Bauer’s 2016 Nexus glove line brings players a classic fit style. This means that Nexus gloves have a roomy, volume fit in the fingers, backhand, and cuff regions to provide a high range of wrist dexterity for stickhandling. The Nexus fit represents Bauer’s second-most popular fit amongst professional and amateur players.
While there are hardly any differences between the Nexus N9000 and last generation’s Nexus 800 gloves, there are some differences between them and the 1N model. First, the N9000s have a double layer ivory nash palm. It is not nearly as high-tech as the 1N’s palm, but it is one consistent material and closely resembles the pro nash material found on the 1X Pro gloves.
The N9000 palm is very sensitive and offers great puck feel for a “mid-range” glove model.
The N9000 gloves also bring players the shorter, pro segmented cuff found in the 1N model for optimal wrist mobility. This is a cuff style that many NHL players use, so you know it will not restrict any motion in the hands and wrists when stickhandling or shooting.
The outer shell materials are made of a pro nylon material instead of synthetic leather. In addition, Bauer uses several types of branding application on the N9000 gloves. For example, the “Nexus N9000” lettering on the thumbs are stitched on and are nearly flush with the thumb materials. Then, the large Bauer logo on the outer cuff is raised and embroidered with the glove’s secondary color providing contrast and a professional, 3-dimensional look and feel. Finally, Bauer has a pressed vinyl “Bauer” logo on the inner cuff.
On the outer rolls, Bauer places the prominent Nexus “N” logo above a rubbery, semi-transparent, cross-like graphic. This material is purely cosmetic and only provides contrast between the nylon and the logo. Beneath material on the backhand, fingers, and thumb lie double-density foams and polyethylene (PE) inserts for ultimate mobility, comfort, and enhanced, lightweight impact protection.
The Nexus N9000s use Bauer’s patented 2-piece flex lock thumb. The outer padding flexes slightly with thumb movement and the thumb is free to bend within the thumb pocket. When combined with the patented 2-piece segmented finger construction, these gloves give players incredible grip and protection.
Another feature in the N9000 gloves is the THERMO MAX liner. This hydrophobic liner causes the gloves to stay light and dry during play.
Bauer Nexus N9000 gloves have the most comparable fit style to Warrior Dynasty AX2 gloves.
