Bauer’s 2016 Nexus protective line brings players a traditional, or classic, fit. This means that the elbow pads have a high-volume fit both over the biceps and through the forearm. Nexus protective gear provides ultimate coverage with controlled movement.
The N9000 elbow pads are Bauer’s second-tier model in the Nexus line and will provide players with a great level of protection at a fraction of the price of the top-of-the-line 1N model. N9000 elbow pads are best suited for players who block shots and finish checks.
Bauer Nexus N9000 elbow pads are comfortable, flexible, and mobile because of the 3-strap attachment system. This attachment system involves a wide, rigid Velcro strap across the forearm, a soft, stretchable 1” strap across the inner elbow, and a soft, stretchable 1.5” strap across the bicep. Bauer also utilizes high-density (HD) foams throughout the bicep and wrist guards and mid-density (MD) foam on the lateral insert for the highest level of protection and comfort possible.
The N9000 is the only Nexus elbow pad that offers the THERMO MAX Liner. This liner causes the pads to stay dryer and lighter during play because they won’t be absorbing sweat. While they won’t stay as dry as the 1N elbow pads with the 37.5® Liner, they will be better than the hydrophobic mesh liner on the N7000 model.
The N9000s also have the same multi-segmented bicep guard style as the 1Ns. This design allows the bicep guard to flex freely from the forearm guard, giving players enhanced freedom of movement.
Bauer Nexus N9000 elbow pads have the most comparable fit and protection to CCM Tacks 6052 or Warrior Alpha QX Pro elbow pads.

Sizing Guidelines: Measure the length between the shoulder pad and the cuff of the glove. Match the player’s measured size to the size of the elbow pads by inches. Determine the level of play and the level of protection necessary. When fastened securely, there should be no gap between the pad and either the biceps extension of the shoulder pad or the cuff of the glove. The elbow pad should not slip or move while fastened. Players who wear a short cuff style glove should choose the longer model of elbow pad.
