Bauer’s 2016 Nexus protective line brings players a traditional, or classic, fit. This means that the shin guards have a high-volume fit both over the knee and through the lower portion of the shin. Nexus protective gear provides ultimate coverage with controlled movement.
The N7000 shin guards are Bauer’s entry-level model in the Nexus line and will provide players with a good level of protection. N7000 shin guards are best suited for beginners playing in no-contact leagues.
Bauer Nexus N7000 shin guards utilize a more traditional 2-piece, front strapping, Velcro attachment system. Even though players are getting a basic strapping system, they will still get the same thermoformed ergonomic shin cap found all the way up in the 1N model. Bauer also utilizes medium-density (MD) foams throughout the calf guard, thigh protector, and main liner for the highest level of protection at this price point.
The N7000s have a soft, hydrophobic mesh liner that wicks away sweat, keeping the pads dryer and lighter during play.
Bauer Nexus N7000 shin guards have the most comparable fit and protection to CCM Tacks 3092 or Warrior Alpha QX4 shin guards.

Sizing Guidelines: Shin guards are measured best while the player is sitting. Using shin guards that are either too long or too short will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shin guards should be secured with shin guard straps or tape. To fit properly, first determine the level of play. Next, measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot. Last, match the player’s shin size to the inches of shin guard.
