Bauer’s 2016 Nexus protective line brings players a traditional, or classic, fit. This means that the shoulder pads have a high-volume fit both over the shoulders and through the abdominal region. Nexus protective gear provides ultimate coverage with controlled movement.
The Freeze shoulder pads are a rare and exclusive product made for Sports Excellence Retailers like Discount Hockey. They are an upgraded version of the entry-level Nexus N7000 shoulder pads at a lower price than the second-tier N9000 model.
The Nexus Freezes are upgraded to have the same removable medium-density (MD) foam belly pad as the N9000 model. The overall segmented design of this shoulder pad allows for great, natural movement.
Bauer Nexus Freeze shoulder pads utilize a more traditional 1-piece bicep pad. Even though this is less flexible than the N9000 or 1N bicep pads, players will still get the same molded thermoformed bicep technology found all the way up the Nexus line to the 1N. Bauer also utilizes high-density (HD) foams in the sternum and medium-density (MD) foams throughout the front and back side panels, spine, and arch for the highest level of protection at this price point.
The Freezes have a soft, hydrophobic mesh liner that wicks away sweat, keeping the pads dryer and lighter during play.
Bauer Nexus Freeze shoulder pads have the most comparable fit and protection to CCM Tacks 5092 or Warrior Alpha QX4 shoulder pads.

Sizing Guidelines: The chest measurement should be taken from just below the arm pits. Match the player's chest size to the shoulder pad that corresponds. Also take into consideration the level of play. Shoulder pads should fit snugly while the vital tips of the shoulder must be properly under the shoulder caps. The bicep pads should not interfere with the player’s elbow pads.
