Bauer’s 2016 Nexus protective line brings players a traditional, or classic, fit. This means that the shin guards have a high-volume fit both over the knee and through the lower portion of the shin. Nexus protective gear provides ultimate coverage with controlled movement.

The Freeze shin guards are a rare and exclusive product made for Sports Excellence Retailers like Discount Hockey. They are an upgraded version of the entry-level Nexus N7000 shin guards at a lower price than the second-tier N9000 model.

The Nexus Freezes are upgraded to have the same medium-density (MD) foam knee wing as the N9000 model. This improved knee wing increases comfort and protection in a key impact area.

Bauer Nexus Freeze shin guards utilize a more traditional 2-piece, rear strapping, Velcro attachment system. Even though players are getting a basic strapping system, they will still get the same thermoformed ergonomic shin cap found all the way up in the 1N model. Bauer also utilizes medium-density (MD) foams throughout the calf guard, thigh protector, and main liner for the highest level of protection at this price point.

The Freezes have a soft, hydrophobic mesh liner that wicks away sweat, keeping the pads dryer and lighter during play.

Bauer Nexus Freeze shin guards have the most comparable fit and protection to CCM Tacks 5092 or Warrior Alpha QX4 models.

Sizing Guidelines: Shin guards are measured best while the player is sitting. Using shin guards that are either too long or too short will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shin guards should be secured with shin guard straps or tape. To fit properly, first determine the level of play. Next, measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot. Last, match the player’s shin size to the inches of shin guard.
